Getting FollowStride working.

FollowStride for iPhone and Apple Watch

Why are my metrics blank?

Because FollowStride won't show you a number you didn't produce. If a tile shows a dash, Apple Health has nothing for that metric on your device yet. Common reasons:

This is the app working as intended. Training on a plausible-looking number you didn't generate is worse than seeing a blank.

Heart rate shows a dash during a run

An iPhone in your pocket can't measure heart rate. Live BPM needs an Apple Watch recording the run. Distance, pace, elevation and cadence all work from the phone alone.

My run didn't record properly

Runs aren't appearing in Apple Health

FollowStride needs write access as well as read. Settings → Privacy & Security → Health → FollowStride, and enable Workouts. Runs recorded before you grant it aren't backfilled.

The Apple Watch app

It installs alongside the iPhone app. If it doesn't appear, open the Watch app on your iPhone, scroll to Available Apps and install FollowStride. Runs you record on the watch save to Apple Health with their GPS route, and the iPhone app picks them up the next time you open it — with the map, per-mile splits and elevation, the same as a run tracked on the phone.

Allow location on the watch when it asks, or the run still records but arrives without a map. A watch run can take a minute or two to reach the phone, since it travels through Apple Health rather than directly between the two apps.

The coach says it doesn't have enough data

That's an honest answer, not an error. The coach is only allowed to reason from measurements that actually exist. Record a run or wear a watch overnight and it will have something to work with.

Deleting your data

Sign out inside the app to erase your profile, run log, shoe mileage and cached AI text from the device. Deleting the app removes everything stored locally. Workouts already written to Apple Health stay yours — remove them in the Health app under Browse → Activity → Workouts. We hold nothing on our servers, so there's no account to delete. See the privacy policy for detail.

Is this medical advice?

No. FollowStride is a training tool, not a medical device. Its scores and coaching are generated from your training data and can be wrong. See a qualified professional about pain, injury, or any health decision.

Still stuck?

Email mlaj090407@gmail.com with what you were doing and what happened. If it's about a specific run, the date and time helps.
